Ruchi serenades and uplifts in his emotional dance-pop single “Rewind”
With his sensual single, “Rewind”, Ruchi blends contemporary R&B, African culture, and western dance-pop music sublimely. Ruchi takes us through regret and love as he attempts to salvage what is left of a relationship that is already gone. The song is produced by the super-producer, Double G. He starts the music starts off slow with a synth, kick drum and piano, which immediately captures the heart of the listener. Then the tempo increases and the song builds throughout as Ruchi tells his story beautifully. The end is truly worth the wait as the tempo increases with a catchy, colorful rhythm, melded with touching lyrics, that make your heart sing.
Ruchi and Double G previously worked together on his latest afro-pop single, “Are You Mine”, where the pair proved their top class chemistry. ‘Rewind’ is the lead single to Ruchi’s upcoming project due to be released this summer. The single differs from Ruchi’s two previously released singles, as he delves into an electro-dance style of production, while still staying true to his signature emotional afro-pop style with subtle hints throughout the peace.
Ruchi started making music and playing shows at the age of 12. By the age of 18, he had released two singles, “Fire” (produced by Oscar Ackah), and the aforementioned, “Are You Mine”. After studying the theory of music and diving into the history of artists that influenced him — from Otis Redding and Ray Charles to Michael Jackson and Queen — a career in music seemed his natural path. Listeners can expect a sound that isn’t confined within the boundaries of any specific genres: a touch of pop and R&B, heavily infused with African percussion. In addition to working on his upcoming music projects, and producing/writing for other artists, Ruchi is also an actor and a writer, he wrote his first feature film in 2017 and is pursuing production options.
