Suppose two men ejaculate in a woman’s vagina at the same time and she becomes pregnant.Which of the two could turn out to be the father of the child?

Either of the men could be the child’s father. They would need to take paternity tests to determine which it is.

It is also possible — extremely unlikely, but it’s happened — for both men to father a baby. Sometimes women release two eggs during ovulation. If she is only having sex with one man when she conceives, the result is two fraternal (non-identical) twins. The two babies are siblings, the same as any other two brothers or two sisters or sister and brother, genetically speaking. The only difference is they were both in their mother’s uterus at the same time. (This is different from identical twins, which result when the fertilized egg splits in two, and you basically have two copies of the same baby.)

If the mother has sex with two men during a two-egg ovulation, one of the eggs could be fertilized by one man’s sperm and the other egg could be fertilized by the other man’s sperm. So the result is two half-siblings. Again, genetic testing would be necessary to determine this.
